Green Carbon Spherogels

Future demand: For the storage of renewable energy from wind or photovoltaics we need also devices, which are manufactured from sustainable resources, e.g. electrodes from wood components, biomass or even industrial waste.

On the way to sustainable, green energy storage materials (electrodes): Recently, we developed a route to monolithic carbon spherogels based on sustainable chemicals. As one compound tannin from mimosa tree is applied.

By use of different sphere template concentrations we can adjust the hollow sphere morphology (wall thickness, interior size) in the final carbon spherogels
